Lightning forecast Europe
This image shows the lightning forecast for Europe for the next 2-3 hours. The lightning forecast is calculated every 5 minutes based on the actual lightning strikes over Europe.
The lighting possibility is indicated in a red and yellow area. By looking at the movement of the lightning strikes and the clouds surrounding the lightning we are able to do a short term prediction of the lightning areas over Europe.
In the next few weeks we will also publish the realtime lightning strikes of the past period. For now you can see the strikes at: lightning strikes at http://www.sat24.com. We will also publish a lightning alerting service which will enable you to be automatically notified if lightning is detected in your area or if it lightning is forecasted in your area.
